The healthcare system in Gaza is currently facing a severe crisis due to ongoing conflict. Approximately two-thirds of hospitals in Gaza are non-operational due to extensive damage, leaving a limited number of facilities overwhelmed by patient demand. These remaining hospitals face critical shortages of essential medical supplies and fuel , significantly impacting their ability to provide adequate medical care. Around 350,000 individuals with chronic diseases , including diabetes and hypertension, are experiencing severe difficulties accessing vital medications and procedures such as dialysis. Damage to medical infrastructure and supply shortages have severely disrupted chronic disease management. Cancer patients face an especially critical situation after 21 March 2025 when Gaza’s only specialized cancer treatment center , the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital was destructed . This hospital previously treated up to 30,000 cancer patients annually, and its loss has left many without essential medical care. Specialized services like organ transplants are currently unavailable within Gaza , forcing patients to seek treatment abroad, a process complicated by logistical and security barriers. How ARDA Addresses Gaza’s Healthcare Crisis? In response to the collapse of the healthcare system in Gaza, ARDA has launched a coordinated campaign to ensure that patients with urgent and life-threatening conditions receive the medical care they need outside the region. The process includes five key steps. 1. Patient Registration ARDA has created an online registration system where patients can register. We build a secure digital database about: Diagnosis and treatment history Current medical condition Urgency level and any complications !!! If you or a person you know in Gaza has a life-threatening condition, you can REGISTER HERE!!! 2. Partner Hospital Collaboration ARDA collaborates with a network of partner hospitals outside Gaza. Medical professionals from these hospitals evaluate each case to determine: The feasibility of treatment The urgency of the condition Availability of appropriate services Priority is given to: Children in urgent medical need Pregnant women requiring maternal or prenatal care Emergency cases , including cancer patients and individuals with chronic or life-threatening conditions If you are a representative of a hospital and you are interested in accepting patients from Gaza, please contact our team . 3. Documentation Preparation Once a hospital agrees to accept a patient, ARDA coordinates the preparation of all necessary documentation. This includes: Medical reports and test results Hospital acceptance letters Identification and legal paperwork for the patient and an accompanying assistant 4. Authorization to Leave Gaza ARDA facilitates the process of obtaining official clearance for the patient and their assistant to leave Gaza. This involves: Submitting the medical case and hospital approval to the relevant authorities Navigating logistical and legal channels for cross-border medical travel 5. Travel and Transfer Logistics Upon receiving formal approval, ARDA arranges the full travel itinerary, ensuring safe and timely transport of the patient and their assistant to the partner hospital. This includes: Transportation to the border crossing Coordination with medical escorts if needed Travel arrangements to the destination hospital What did we do so far? In the past months, ARDA has built the foundations of the Gaza Health Bridge with relentless effort. We formed a network of partner hospitals ready to accept urgent cases, secured legal experts to navigate complex exit procedures, and m apped the path to treatment —step by step. This work is intense, often invisible, but it’s what makes every medical transfer possible. What do we need now? Every day, more patients are being registered — most of them children. Families are reaching out in hope, and our volunteers are doing everything they can to respond. But while the will is strong, the road to treatment depends on resources . Each medical journey requires transport, legal processing, hospital coordination, and follow-up care. Our cost estimates are based on real hospital evaluations, but as new cases come in daily, that number keeps rising. In the current reality, many of these patients won’t survive without intervention . They’re not just numbers—they’re children, mothers, and fathers with names, faces, and a chance at life. With your support, everything becomes possible — the paperwork moves, the borders open, and healing begins. Help us carry them to safety! Where are you? This campaign is built on courage, care, and community — and everyone has a role to play . Whether you have time, resources, or simply a voice, you can help carry a patient one step closer to safety.
